Milton – David H. Jenkins, 43, died unexpectedly on Friday November 23, 2007 following a hunting accident on Warren Road in Milton.  David was born on May 5, 1964, the son of Harold and Evelyn (Thornton) Jenkins.  He graduated from the Milton High School Class of 1982.  David had worked for the Colchester School District for many years.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling.  David also enjoyed competing in Chain Saw Races and Corn Field Derby’s.  He will be dearly missed by numerous close friends, relatives and acquaintances.

David is survived by his longtime soul mate Joanna Dague of Milton, by his parents Evelyn Jenkins of Milton, and Harold “Hal” Jenkins and friend Leslie Leggett of Bristol. By his sister Terri Lazary and husband Peter of Tucson, AZ, and his brother Bruce Jenkins and wife Karen and their children Parker and William Jenkins of Milton.  Dave is also survived by Joanna’s parents Robert and Beverly Dague of Georgia, and Joanna’s sister Diana Hodet and husband Tim and their children Bradley and Eric of Fairfax, and by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins from VA, NC and VT.  Dave will also be missed by Oz, his faithful Rottweiler.
 
For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Milton Youth Hockey Assoc., P.O. Box 742, Milton, VT 05468, Franklin County Humane Society, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, VT  05478-1932 or to a charity of ones choice involving children.  In keeping with David’s wishes there will be no funeral service, however, friends are encouraged to share remembrances and stories during visiting hours.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday November 27th, 2007 from 4-7pm in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Cremation will follow and David’s ashes will be spread by his family and close friends at the place he loved best.  These arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.
