Elaine Labrie
(February 24, 1920 - January 3, 2008)


FRANKLIN – Elaine Hazel Labrie, age 87, passed away Thursday January 3, 2008 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans She was born February 24, 1920 in Alburg the daughter of the late McKinley & Nora (Crittenden) Bates. Elaine was a resident of Franklin most of her life. She married Etienne “Steve” Labrie on February 26, 1938 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Franklin. In her younger years she drove school bus for the Franklin School system and worked as a housekeeper for families in the area. She enjoyed flowers, cats, birds. She was loved by her family and everyone that knew her. She is survived by her husband Steve Labrie of Franklin; 2 sons, Walter Labrie of Franklin, and John Labrie and his wife Ramona of Fletcher; a sister, Joanne Grondahl and her husband Edward of Lafayette, NC; her grandchildren, Mark Labrie and his wife Bonnie, Tammy Gratton and her husband Randy, Dawn Barone and her husband Bob, Sherri Pierce and her husband Rob, Michael Labrie, and Kurtis Labrie and his wife Melissa; 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday January 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. In keeping with Elaine’s wishes there will be no visiting hours. For those who wish, contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Lions Club International Foundation – Hearing Loss Program, 300 West 22nd St., Oak Brook, IL 60523-8842
