Looks Like Lots Of Candidates

Chris Santee has a list of potential candidates for several offices on his web site http://www.franklinone.com/.

Surprisingly enough, I know most of them. Potential candidates have until January 28, 2008 to submit their petitions. In talking with a number of different people here in town, as well as emails I have received, there are some strong opinions circulating regarding proposed spending, both pro & con. Although this is not new, a lot of people have a problem voting publically with the raising of hands or voice votes at Town Meeting for fear of looking like a bad person, or one who is not for the betterment of the School or Town. If they suggest a paper ballot, in many cases they will be greeted with negative comments. Some people will not express their true feelings unless it is in a secret ballot.

I try not to express my personal preferences here on the forum as I want people from both sides of an issue to express themselves. I will post for people that don't wish to post themselves, but will not do so without making sure everyone knows who asked me to do it as, in many cases, I may or may not agree with what I am posting. There are also registered forum members who do not use their real name that also post and as long as they have a legitimate e-mail address, they are allowed to do that.

I do encourage people to use this forum to express their opinions and for those candidates running for office, if you send me your photo, I will also be glad to upload that for you so people will know who you are.
