SHARON E. BURBO

MILTON — Sharon E. Burbo, 49, died Monday morning Jan. 21, 2008, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, following a courageous bout with cancer. Sharon was born on Jan. 3, 1959, the daughter of Marion (Garcia) and Walter Andy Weatherwax. Sharon left quietly with her family by her side. She was a woman with a heart of gold, giving more to others than herself. Sharon enjoyed scary movies, drawing, reading and writing. Her love for animals was obvious to all who knew her. She owned six boxers, three waiting for her in Heaven and three who will miss her dearly. She enjoyed life and always had a smile. Throughout the years battling illnesses she always remained optimistic. She loved her husband, Mark, of thirty one years, and their two sons, Shane and Eric. She will also always be remembered and loved by Mark, and their son Shane Burbo and girlfriend Darla and Sharon's grand daughter Tabitha, and their son Eric Burbo, all of Milton; by her mother Marion Weatherwax of Colchester; her sisters and brother and spouses, Sandra and Lee Baker of Cornish, N.H., Joseph and Nancy Weatherwax of Fairfax, Christine and Frederick Linder of Ind., and Liz and Philip Peterson of Colchester; by her motherin-law Helen Burbo of Burlington; three brothers-in-law; five sisters-inlaw; and by several uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews, including Walter Burbo III and Issiah Terry; as well as several cousins; and her best friend, Missy Tennien of Milton. She was predeceased by her father, Walter Weatherwax; her father-inlaw, Walter Burbo Sr.; and nephew, George Weatherwax. Sharon's family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at the FAHC as well as the members of the Milton Rescue and Fire Dept for their continuing support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m., in St. Ann Catholic Church in Milton. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Milton Rescue, 43 Bombardier Road, Milton, VT 05468 or to the Milton Fire Dept., P.O. Box 814, Milton, VT 05468 . Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a prayer service by Fr. Feltz at 3:45 p.m., in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
