Hi Suzy,

You didn't mention how much snow you have on the ground - usually that helps sooth the 18 degrees below zero, but not much.

Here in Fairfax we have, at least at my house, probably a couple of inches of snow on the ground and below are the conditions:



Last night when I got up in the middle of the night, it was one of those winter nights like we have up here in Vermont and been having lately where you can see everything quite clearly - Almost like daylight.

We have lots and lots of snow here.  Okay, that's not a measurable amount, but I read yesterday that we have more snow now than we did all last winter by the end of the winter.  Unscientifically, the snowbanks and drifts here are the tallest/deepest I've seen them in 12 years of living here.  The moon has been blasting us each night with it's beams, and bouncing off the snow...it has seemed like daylight here too...only at 4 AM!  Gorgeous moonlight here in Winter Wonderland.  Looking forward to summer!
