Roads Are Not Good - Best To Stay Hoime

When I came home after the 11 a.m. Mass today, I couldn't believe how much it had snowed while I was in Church. I didn't test it, but Main Hill looked like the snow had turned to ice. There were two tractor trailer trucks at the foot of the hill and I met the State Truck coming up the hill as I was going down. Must have been quite the snow squall between 11a.m. and noon.

Hazardous road conditions throughout Vermont

VTrans reports that Addison , Caledonia , Chittenden , Essex , Franklin , Grand Isle , Lamoille , Orange , Orleans and Washington are experiencing difficult driving conditions because the roadway is mostly covered with mixed snow ice or slush and because the road is slippery in places.
Snow showers and squalls are expected throughout the day. Treated roadways will become slippery as these hit and miss snow events occur. Use extreme caution.

Snow squal dumps several inches in just over an hour

A severe snow squal has dumped several inches of snow just west of the Green Mountains and along I89, Vermont Route 15 and surrounding areas. Multiple reports of cars off the roadways have been reported throughout the area. Motorists should use extreme caution when driving and are advised to stay off the roads at this time.

I89 Shut down South bound at French Hill in Williston

State police reports that a tractor trailer has just jack-knifed on I89 South-bound on French Hill in Williston. The roadway is closed at this time and road conditions in the area are extremely hazadous. Motorist should avoid the area and take extreme caution while driving.
