Congratulations to Fairfax Fire Department Captain Jesse Fleming on his recent career change.  Captain Fleming has joined the ranks of two other fellow Fairfax Firefighters (Deputy Chief Justin Hayes and Lieutenant Jordan Hayes) as a Career Firefighter/EMT's with the City of St. Albans Fire Dept.  Jesse went through the testing process for the City Fire Department in May of 2007 which consisted of a written exam, physical agility test and oral board interviews to have his name put on a hiring list.  Almost a full year later the hard work of applying has paid off.  Again Congratulations, Fairfax is truly lucky to have this type of full time experience being brought back to its own department.

Congrats.

Most people have no idea the physical toll for being a firefighter.

My last 2 years in the Navy I was in a structural fire department in Adak, Alaska.
I was involved in a whole 3 fires at that time!!  One was a barge fire..... I suggested cut the rope and lets go home, but the chief wanted to put it out. Adak is an island.

ANYWAY...

It is a huge physical and mental commitment to be a firefighter.

I attended the State of Alaska Firefighter 1 training and became certified.  MAN IT IS WORK!!!

It is not easy tossing up a 20 foot extension ladder and raising yourself.

AND now I am an office boy in the construction industry. I could not handle Firefighting!

AGAIN, CONGRATS Jesse.

Good luck.

Congrats Brother!

Brian Farris

I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.
