Anybody Know Why We Are Counting Traffic On Maple Street

Mike Cain took the picture last week the same day I noticed it - Can't for the life of me figure out why we would count traffic here.  Its just beyond the covered bridge near the entrance to the Rec Path

It has to do with the Safe Routes To School program. Apparently they also had counters on Hunt Street and School Street. One day last week, I went to get the mail at 10am, they were there. When I came back at 10:45, they were gone. They were in place only a few days.
