Eunice M. (Fortune) Cross
Georgia - Eunice Mae (Fortune) Cross, 68 passed away on Monday May 26, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Alburgh surrounded by her loving family. Eunice was born in Alburgh on December 1, 1939 daughter of the late Peter and Elva (Bohannon) Fortune. She had worked with housekeeping at Fletcher Allen and Northwestern Medical Center for numerous years. She married Raymond Cross Sr. on December 26, 1959 whom predeceased her in 1996. Eunice enjoyed crocheting and lovingly knitting items and wood working for her family and friends. She had been an active member with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #758. She was also a member of the Royal order of the Moose. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Paquette and husband Douglas of Alburgh, her three sons: Raymond Cross Jr. of Georgia; Peter Cross and wife Elizabeth of Williston; Charles “Chuk” Cross of Georgia; her adopted son Bryan Deyette of Fairfield; Two brothers, Fred Fortune of St. Albans Town; James Maskell and wife Sherry of Glens Falls, NY; Two sisters, Mildred Stevenson and Lynn of Clarenceville, Quebec and Mariette Curfman of Ada Nebraska; Nine Grandchildren; Three Great Grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her son Robert Cross in 1964 and two brothers Carl and Wyman Maskell.
Visiting hours will be held today Thursday May 29, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel. A grave side service in the Sanderson Corners Cemetery Fairfax, VT will be held on Friday May 30, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. with the Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating.
