Two Franklin County men have been arrested after allegedly using a metal pipe to attack a man sitting in a car stopped at a traffic light.

St. Albans City police identified the attackers as Lynward Reynolds, 38, of Swanton, and Harold Greenia, 29, of St. Albans. Reynolds is charged with attempted aggravated assault and unlawful mischief, and Greenia faces a charge of being an accessory to the attempted aggravated assault.

According to police, Jeffrey Nichols, 20, of Enosburg was in a car stopped at a light at the intersection of Lake and Main streets about 3:30 p.m. Friday when Reynolds jumped out of Greenia’s vehicle with a section of two-inch pipe about two and a half feet long. He reportedly smashed the side window with the pipe and almost hit Nichols in the head, police said.
