Does anyone know where the name of this road came from?  It's out between VT 108 (I think) and Metcalf Pond.

Lost Nation, to the best of my knowledge is part of East Fairfield.  I have an old Fairfield History Book, if I can find it that might give some insight on that.  Not really sure just where it is in East Fairfield, guess that is how lost it is, but think I had some relatives that lived there that were still using oxen back in the 1950s.

Eerie enough, there's another lost nation road in Essex.  If you turn on to Old Stage Road in Essex, about 100 yds doen the road on your left, is Lost Nation Road.  it's dirt i beleive and runs paralelle to 15 for a while.  Conicidence that's there's 2 Same named roads within 20 miles of each other?

You can get to Lost Nation Road by going to the Lapland Road, via The Howrigan Road in Fletcher, From East Fairfield Village, or from Route 108, taking Whitney Road or the Metcalf Pond Road.
