Not sure what was going on, but went down to get a few groceries in St. Albans and as I was coming out of the Highgate Shopping Center about 1 p.m. a State Police Car was there stopping all traffic turning to head South.  In a minute or so, hundreds of motorcycles started passing headed South into St. Albans on Route 7, apparently coming from up Swanton way.  Fortunately I was headed North to get on the Interstate, so was able to get out.  When I got to the road to the Interstate, another State Police car was stopping traffic coming down from Highgate way and as far as I could see there were motorcycles coming down Route 7.  Jumped on the Interstate hoping they weren't going to go up Route 104 and luckily they weren't, so made it home without a delay.

Some guy was videotaping them on Route 7, but there was nothing on the news tonight as to just what they were doing, but suspect they were riding for some Charitable Cause.

Good Morning Henry,
Ride for the Guard is a motorcycle ride from the VFW in Essex up to Alburgh and back down Rte 7 to the VFW for a late lunch. A few of us from Fairfax made the run. THe purpose of the ride is to raise funds for Guard members families who are financially strapped while the bread winner is on active duty. More can be read @ http://www.ridefortheguard.com. I think I have it right. I will have a little video in the near future.

Thanks Ron - It was quite a sight.  I had my camera with me, but had to get back home.  Quite surprising that it wasn't mentioned on the news as it is a worthwhile project - Thanks for the information and the web site link.

You did an amazing job Ron - You should go professional with that camera - Nice steady video - I was actually able to identify quite a few places on your trip.
