If you happen to be walking around Fairfax and smell pickles - Well that is just the result of many busy little beavers making pickles.  Saw one Old Timer up at Rick's Pharmacy the other day and she said her husband had a great garden this year and she had been making pickles for days.

Interesting thing about pickles - Back in the old days, at every family gathering, there was always a pickle dish with several different kinds of homemade pickles.  My sister usually comes down for the holidays and will usually bring some pickles.  We have a Mrs. Farnsworth who is a member of our Friendly Senior Citizens here in Fairfax and she brings pickles for every single Senior Citizens Luncheon.  This lady and her daughter must make tons of pickles of all kinds.

The one pickle I like, my mother used to call "Sweet Pickles."  They are made with large ripe cucumbers and I think have several different names, such as "Tongue", "Amber" and maybe other names.
