Don't know how many years ago this old culvert was installed, or which Road Crew might have done it, but it is pretty well gone, so a new technology is tried for the next 30 or more years at this spot
A hard, smoothe HDPE sleeve will be installed through the old culvert and even though smaller, will allow 110% capacity vs the old culvert
It is truly interesting to watch these three men accomplish a task as they discuss, sometimes argue a bit, but eventually come to an agreement as to the best way to do the job. Truly an exhibition in Yankee Ingenuity as they change hats from Road Crew to Masons to Carpenters, with no job too big or too small
With the pan attached to the culvert, it is now time to seal around the sleeve at the end of the culvert. Don does the patching and Pat & DJ do the cement mixing
Pat came up this morning, removed the forms and did a bit more patching, but the job is done. This was their first time at doing this and I am sure a learning experience that they will utilize on the next job as they come up with new ideas on how to do it easier and better, however, it will all depend on the situation as their Yankee Ingenuity comes into play
GREAT JOB GUYS
