S D Ireland is around where the red A is - Doesn't look like it is very far from Williston Road, which could have caused a little concern for motorist had some gone on Williston Road.

Amazing that no one was actually injured when you see the size of some of those rocks that flew.  Apparently this is not far from the airport.  There is an Audio Slide Show on the Free Press Web Site:

"use enough dynamite there Butch?"

Kind of reminded me of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid when  I saw that cloud of dust go up.  We had to hold airplanes until the city checked to make sure the runway was clean.

I was working at Pratt & Whitney 200-300 yeards away next to a window when it went off. We are used to getting a low rumble from the typical blasting there in the pit but when this one went off it was a hell of a boom with a real good vibration. I looked out window in time to see the dirt and rocks flying. Saw one large rock land near a small single engine plane. Read all the news articles later...ka ching

Reminded me of seeing I.E.D. videos

My daughter works on Williston Rd for a Doctor, she said the boom was so loud it sounded as if a bomb had been dropped.  Every one went out and checked their cars after the loud noise.
