Back in the 50s we used to have a couple of men who used to go around selling Canadian Bread.  First it was Horace LeClair (Dick LeClair's Dad), then it was Linc Burleson, husband of Ruth Burleson.  Wish my memory was good enough to remember what they sold a loaf of bread for, but I am sure it was far less than what it is today.  I only remember them selling bread, but am sure they must have sold something else.

I suspect they used to go up over the border and get their bread in one of the small towns in the Province of Quebec - I used to love Canadian Bread - Don't believe it was even wrapped in anything.  Unlike Mr. Hardy, their stops were very short.  It was a quick "Hi", then drop off the bread and they were on their way.

Mr. Hardy, The Raleigh Man, who lived where Sam Hudson lives, I believe, used to be set for usually a couple hours.
