RENE PAUL LETOURNEAU

BERKSHIRE/SWANTON — Mr. Rene Paul Letourneau, age 64, died early Wednesday afternoon on Oct. 15, 2008, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. A native of Swanton, Rene has lived for eight years in Waterville and more recently during the past four years as a resident of the Berkshire Center Road in Berkshire. Prior to his illness, he was associated 18 years as a supervisor with the Champlain Cable Company in Colchester. In earlier years, he had also worked for the former Thermal Wire Company in South Hero, as well as worked construction with Peto Amilhat. His favorite hobby was woodworking. Born in Saint Albans on Sept. 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Floyd and Evelyn (Vosburgh) Letourneau. He attended Swanton schools and on Feb. 20, 1965, he was married to the former Judith Marrier who survives him. In addition to his wife Judy of 43 years, Rene leaves two sons Michael Letourneau and his wife Jessie, and Shaun Letourneau all of Berkshire; a “daughter“ Tammy Rouse of Highgate; four grandchildren Michael Letourneau, Dora Letourneau, Meagen Lewis and Tara Letourneau; his mother-in-law Betty Marrier of Fairfax; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Rene was predeceased by his twin brother Ronald; a sister Patricia; and his father-in-law Harvey Marrier. At Rene's request, funeral services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts in Rene's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
