Well, I started watching the Red Sox Game and things weren't going my way, so I accepted the fact that not only were they going to loose, but they were going to lose really bad, so watched other programs and forgot about it, until........................

I was watching the 11 o'clock news and Mike McCune says "Big Poppi" hit a home run and forget what the score was, but the Red Sox was no longer 0.

Flipped that dial over and once again became a dedicated Red Sox Fan and it was a nail-biter until the end when the Red Sox won 8-7.

I'm with you, only I went to bed at the end of the 5th inning, and the Red Sox down 5-0. I think at the time that Kazmir had a fairly low pitch count, and the Sox offense was essentially non-existant. I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I heard they had come back and won. Now it's back to Tampa Bay tomorrow. Let's hope that Beckett has a much better outing than his last game. At least the bull pen should be rested, with today being an off day.

Henry     You must have also been watching in the top of the 9th when the Rays had runners on 1st & 2nd with one out and didn't  have the opportunity ( either because Pena hit early in the count  or the Sox pitcher checked Bartlett well ) to pull off their patented  double steal,  because certainly that would have taken away the subsequent doubleplay, and then the ball hit by Pena would have scored one run, if not going through the pulled-in infield for two runs.  ( By the way, Pedroia is featured in this week's SI under the Players Section. )  Nice feed from Pedroia to set up the eventual winning rally !!!!   Can Beckett be Beckett at the Trop ????    Dick Brown

I tell ya, guys, I have never been so proud of a team like I was last night. I never saw any of the '04 games against the Yankees, but this was one for the memory. I, too, watched other TV, then switched over. All I wanted was one run so they weren't shutout.
Then hen they started scoring runs, I'm thinking, can they do this?
There wasn't any gloom and doom feeling that was so prevelent in my mind for so many years.
It was getting cold and I needed to start wearing a cap, so I got out my Sox cap, and believe you me, even if they lose Saturday night.......
I will wear my cap with pride.
