A man committed suicide in the parking lot of the Essex Town municipal building, said Leo Nadeau, the town's police chief.

The suicide at 81 Main St. occurred at about 8:40 a.m. Friday, Nadeau said.

The chief did not have the man's identity and had few Other details about the incident. He said no one else was injured.
Nadeau said his department is still investigating.
