Water Main Break Closes Down Section Of Route 2A In Colchester

Vermont 2A in Colchester between U.S. 7 and Mill Pond Road is now closed because of a water main break, Colchester Police said.

Crews were en route as of 11:55 a.m. to shut off the water and make repairs.

Police scanner reports indicate parts of the road have been undermined by water.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes around the area. There is no indication yet on when the road might reopen.

Vermont 2A in Colchester between U.S. 7 and the Union Memorial School, will remain closed until midnight because of a water main break and subsequent damage to the highway, Colchester Police said.

Motorists are asked to detour at U.S. 7 and Mill Pond Road, police said.
