Looked out around 4 p.m. and saw a car stopped at my Paper Box.  When he drove off, went out and got my mail and checked my paper box, only to find that not only did I have my Messenger, but the latest delivery was my Free Press on top of the Messenger.  Not sure what happened, but never have I had a Free Press delivered that late - Since so many didn't get theirs, maybe he or she had car problems.

For all of us who are seniors - for all of you who know seniors - and for all of you who will be seniors. It pays to be able to laugh about it when you are!

And, speaking of senior moments:

"WHERE is my SUNDAY paper?!" The irate customer calling the newspaper office loudly demanded, wanting to know where her Sunday edition was.

"Madam", said the newspaper employee,   "today is Saturday. The Sunday paper is not delivered until tomorrow, on SUNDAY".

There was quite a long pause on the other end of the phone, followed by a ray of recognition as she was heard to mutter,

"Well, s..t... so that's why no one was at church today".

I liked the joke Judi, but speaking from personal experience, it is not only seniors who have senior moments! It kinda makes me a little nervous to think of what my future holds...!!

Nice one Judi!

Henry, I am surprised that you still get a paper!  It must be an old habit that you just can't break.  I mean between on-line Burlington Free Press, CNN and Fox.com not to mention Craigslist for all those items in between.  You must be using that newspaper to start your wood stove!

Mummy,

It is true that they do have these papers on line, however, they do not print everything.  I have to admit, that I don't read everything in the paper, but am a scanner, so to speak.  I scan the newspaper and if I happen to see something that I am interested in, will stop and read it.

I let my computer do a scan of the newspapers on line, by simply typing Fairfax in the search line and that does a quick job for me.  I suppose I should broaden my outlook and look beyond, and that I do at times, however, I truly love and enjoy the Town of Fairfax and its people, and as I look back over the years of the old time newspapers like The Surburban List, The Swanton Courier and The St. Albans Messenger, people to this day still enjoy local news about their friends and families.

I now have everybody in my immediate family, except me on Face Book, and from what I hear, a lot of it is communicating about themselves and what they are doing and have been doing, plus meeting up with old friends from the past.
