I89 Delays At Costco Exit For Winooski Sunday

Traffic along Interstate 89 will be delayed Sunday so that utility crews can string new power lines over the highway, according to John Zicconi, Communications Director at VTRANS.

Traffic both north and southbound in the area of Exit 15 will be delayed about a half dozen times between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

To keep vehicles away from utility crews, police will conduct "rolling roadblocks" lasting five-to-10 minutes whenever necessary.

The exact times the half-dozen rolling roadblocks will occur are unknown. They will be conducted a various times throughout the day, and happen whenever utility crews working in consort with police deem them necessary.

A helicopter will be used to help set the new power lines in place. The motoring public should expect the aircraft to fly low over or near the Interstate at various intervals throughout the day.
