The switch over seems to have gone fine, except for the fact that you won't be getting Channel 3 if you don't rescan for available channels.  Channel 3 has switched over to a UHF frequency now if you are getting it with an antenna.  As far as your satellite or cable, you won't know the difference.

I tried to stay up past midnight just to observe the "switch".  It was like New Year's Eve in 2000! :)

Unfortunately, I fell asleep around 11:45.  Oh well.
