For some reason a lot of motherboards are going bye, bye.  Back at Christmas time, my computer had a problem that was diagnosed as a motherboard problem, a little later, Lisa Boucher had a problem, diagnosed as a motherboard problem, a little later Jim Groseclose had a problem, diagnosed as a motherboard problem, Jim had the motherboard replaced and it cranked up once that went kaput again, and lastly, Mike Cain had a problem with his computer, which once again was diagnosed as a motherboard problem. Whew!!

Great.
After seeing what happened to Jim Groseclose, I hope I have better luck.
The Wii is OK to use, but I miss the real computer.

Another Mother Board Bites the Dust.

We had a eMachine Desktop  ( a low-cost PC, aka a cheap one ) --- Not sure when we bought it - -around 5 years ago -- it was running super slow -- brought it to the Geek Squad  ---  Their initial assessment indicated there was some clean-up required ( purge & tune )  we approved ---   Two days later, we assume,  while they Geeks were working on it ,  bam --- The Motherboard died ---- The Desktop was not worth the cost of replacement ---  And they still wanted to charge us for the 'tuning' activity ,   no way Jose,  after multiple calls to the manager, all repair charges were waived.

To ease people's minds, Jim Groseclose had a blown power supply the second time, it wasn't the motherboard epidemic.
