For some of us there was no TV - I do remember listening to several radio programs like "The Green Hornet", "The Lone Ranger", "The Shadow", "Jack Benny", "Charlie McArthy", but I guess I never considered any of them my heroes.

I, like Henry, did not have television growing up.  No television and no car.   We had a radio and crank telephone.  When we went to church, shopping or to school, we walked.  Today, my hero would be my mother.

I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.

James West was very cool -- lots of gadgits and of course he always 'got the girls'  too  --    In additional Marshal Dillon was cool too -- Gunsmoke  --

Hey Chris,

I thought Jim Kirk's middle name was Tiberius.

from wikipedia:

James Tiberius Kirk is a character in the Star Trek media franchise.[1] First portrayed by William Shatner as the principal lead character in the original Star Trek series,[2] Kirk also appears in the animated Star Trek series, the first seven Star Trek movies, and in numerous books, comics, and video games. Chris Pine will assume the role of the character in the 2009 Star Trek film, with Jimmy Bennett playing Kirk as a child.[3][4] Other actors have portrayed the character in fan-created media,[5] and the character has been the subject of multiple spoofs and satires.[6][7][8] Kirk has been called "the quintessential officer, a man among men and a hero for the ages".[9]

Thanks, Yankee !!

Wait a minute!  There is going to be a Star Trek movie without Shatner as Kirk?  Oh no.  They can't do that.  Same shame shame.

Gotta love EMERGENCY! I never understood what "Rampart" was as a kid, but I thought it was so cool the way they always said it.
