Back when I bought my van in 2001 told Clint Paquin I wanted some "beepers" put on my car. When we get a little older, it kind of helps if we have something to notify us when we are backing up if there is something behind us, or if you are in a parking lot getting ready to back out and somebody nonchalantly walks behind you.
Well, the car I was buying on the lot didn't have any factory installed on it and when I checked with a guy in the parts department, he told me that if you didn't get them factory installed, you couldn't get them. That's when Clint decided there has to be a way, so he contacted Yipes Stripes in St. Albans and sure enough, there was a way. They had the perfect beepers for me and installed them. When I traded cars in 2004, Clint just had Yipe Stripes transfer the beepers to my new van and that is what I have now.
The other day when I put the car in reverse, got the 3 beep signal that they were working, however, then it was just a steady beep, so got out of the car and checked and nothing there. Apparently I had a malfunction, so made an appointment at Yipes Stripes yesterday and they found I have a bad sensor. They assured me they could fix them, although they might have to get different sensors, meanwhile, they unhooked the driver side beeper and left the passenger side beeper hooked up. So, now I am running with one beeper.
As I left, the service manager said, "Now remember you only have one beeper." I think he meant, "Henry, don't keep backing until you hear a beeper, or you might hit something."
I expect I will be running on two beepers within a few days. They are a must in my mind for any car.
