I was driving around town the other day, just looking at what might be the future of Fairfax.  What used to be the center of business where The Foothills Bakery now stands does not fit in due to parking.  There is no way a business with any amount of parking requirement could be added to the center of town.

Fortunately, where the Old St. Lukes/Steeple Market area is located, there is parking to accomodate a number of customers.  The area that would best accomodate a Fairfax Business District is where The J & L Field is with an extension across the way where McNall Field was.  Although it may not be, the area where corn is planted on the Union Bank side always appears wet.

One of the things that would definitely need to be considered is a traffic light of some sort as areas where there appear to be the most accidents in town such as, Nan's Mobil, Fairfax Commons, Route128/104 Jct., and Minors Store.  If the business district were to be in the Fairfax Commons to the Country Pantry Area, there should probably be one entrance/exit.

The Junction of 128/104 has always been a problem, not sure what should be done there.  I may have missed it in the Town Plan, but not sure what the plans are for that area.  Meanwhile, I did notice when I looked up Fairfax Real Estate for sale that there are a number of acres for sale in that area, so somebody must be thinking about doing something up in that area.
