Mobile homes seem to go up in flames much quicker than regular homes and in many cases bedrooms are on one end and actually have no escape.  The above photo was taken of the mobile home fire on the Button Road just beyond St. Albans Hill and The Rugg Road on Route 36.

Very, very lucky guys that several good samaritans came along and pulled them out of the bedroom windows.

Put together cheap construction, metal outsides to hold in heat, and ventilation from underneath (like a wood stove would have), and in a lot of cases, wood paneling instead of sheetrock/plaster, and it's a recipe for a fast moving fire.

Yes, they do burn extremely fast.  I have seen/fought a number of them in my 10 plus years of being a firefighter.  Now that I live in the southeast, I am sure I will be adding to that number.
