Pictures of the Day May 5, 2009

A family of geese were on the Lamoille River Monday morning.

GEESE
Posted for Tuesday May 5th...........................
No real change in the baby robin, so I didn't post a picture. Sorry.
Instead, I've got bigger birds.
I was coming back along the rec path with Rex, Monday morning. when I heard a goose hollering.
We went down by the river across from Swansons, and there were two geese floating down the river. I then noticed two other, smaller birds floating down as well.
Unfortunately, the sun was in the wrong spot, so I couldn't get real clear shots of them.
The bigger ones were maybe 30 feet from me as the smaller ones went farther out into the current. The one on the right did most of the "talking". I stood still through the whole thing. Rex was walking around. I wasn't sure if they might take offense and make a charge for him, but they didn't.
Wow. These are HUGE birds.
The pictures do not do justice to the actual size of these things. They look bigger in real life.
