Hi Henry,

Haying has begun on Jim and Dale Webb's farm.  I also saw this woodcock on the Buck Hollow Rd. I usually see one with little ones, every year in this area.  The next bird is a mudhen, or bittern. They stand very still with their beak pointed upward, and often look like blades of grass. This bird was in a swampy area on Carroll Hill Rd. They make a sound like pounding a fence post.
