Temperature got down to 35 degrees here at my house last night.  I think the clouds didn't move out quite as expected which may have had an effect.  I saw on the weather reports that winds in Burlington reached 50 mph around 4:30 p.m. which was around the time I was in Ray's Seafood and the power went out.

For those of you that covered your plants and it didn't freeze, much better to do that than have the heartbreak of going out after a frost on the morning you hadn't covered them.

I will be making my yearly visit down to see my cardiologist, Dr. Dauerman today.  Hopefully, the visits will remain on a yearly basis.  I strongly suspect I will get a little weight lecture.  Somehow or other over the last 10 years it has crept up by 20 pounds.

Got a big decision to make today.  Got a note from Chris Santee that another month is here and time for a front page photo for the June Edition of the Fairfax News which will be coming out later this week.  Don't know about you, but the months sure do fly by, even in retirement.

There was some from up the road from you in Fletcher. I live on School Road and my truck was alittle iced over this morning.

The thought crossed my mind when I was posting that earlier.  For the last 17 years since I have been retired I watch the cars come down through from Fletcher, especially in the winter and see them covered with snow and there is not even a trace of it where I live.  Actually Dean Potter mentioned it snowed up at his place last night while he was covering his plants.  When the 11 p.m. news was on last night, temperatures in Burlington were 10 degrees warmer than I was and most likely up in Fletcher they were probably 5 degrees colder than I was.

City Folks feel sorry for us living out here in the country, but we still love it.  Back in 1960, when Maryann and I got married, we lived in an apartment in Essex Junction across from the Fairgrounds, just about where McDonalds is now, from September until the next June - That was enough city living for us, so we moved back to Fairfax.  Never gave commuting to work a thought as before that, I had commuted from Fairfax to Burlington since 1953.

After a neighbor told me there was a frost warning (thanks Bob), I went out to cover my plants.  I was in the middle of covering things up as the storm rolled in bringing Hail, followed by a chilling rain.  Fortunately, there was not frost, but I still had 80% of my plants covered.

I did have two tomato plants break off in the wind :(

I had a spotty frost this morning, on Cambridge Rd, Fletcher. Covered what I could last night and watered this morning so hopefully not much plant lost.
