A local paper reports that Pierre Menard is optimistic about having a New Steeple Market open by Labor Day.  It will be about 1,800 square feet larger and have public restrooms.  The menu in the Deli is going to be totally different with far more offerings.

People here in Town have really missed the store and can't wait for it to open.  We will say an extra prayer Pierre that all goes smoothly with the permitting process.

There is a port-a-let out back. Didn't see a name on it.

I would hope Fairfax contractors has an opportunity to bid on the project.  It isn't like they didn't know it was in the works and who to contact.  As far as contractor selection, that's up to the owner based on his own research (looking at things like records for completing jobs on time, size of previous jobs and level of involvement, and of course, price too).

The work is just getting started, so it might be too soon to say if there are any "local" contractors working on the job.

I believe there was a "local" there for the demolition. Pidgeon Brothers did that part if I remember correctly and they're from this area aren't they?

If I am not mistaken, I would assume that the "Builder" uses his own subs. That is a pretty large job so I assume it would be a pretty large company doing the work. I think Pierre has employed many of local contractors to do various work around the store so I think he has been more than fair to Fairfax even though he does not live here. I personally give him a high 5 for all he is doing. Thank you Pierre.
