Brad Meunier and a couple members of his crew, work on putting boards on the roof of one of the two barns being built on the Pete & Madonne Rainville Farm on The Swamp Road:
Madonne Rainville explains to a small group of people, just what the new Robot will do. This is the first Robot in Franklin County. I listened to some of the things that Madonne was telling and it is absolutely unreal what this machine will do:
As a brief overview, it sounds like the cows walk through a gate on their own and are milked by the Robot. Much information is taken as the cow is identified by a strap or chip as she enters. Such details as the amount of milk from each quarter, whether there is mastitis, as well as a warning displayed on the computer in the barn and in the house if a cow has not approached the Robot to be automatically milked - I believe the cow is also automatically fed grain, probably the amount determined by the computer also - Madonne is a wealth of information concerning this Robot and I was listening on the sidelines. I certainly hope that someone with a sharper mind and better memory than I does an in depth story on this. I will be back up in a week or two when things progress just a little more, but for this individual, it is amazing just what can be done now-a-days.
