Hi Henry,
Happy Father's Day!!!
It looks like I had a bear in my yard last night some time.
My feeders are all knocked down, and all but 1 has been damaged.
He cleaned up under the feeders also.
There are muddy paw prints on both front and back decks.
He checked anything hanging, including a wind chime, but seemed to step around flower pots and flowers.
I don't know how the size of the footprint relates to the size of the bear, but I measured the muddy print on the sunroom frame.

JoAnne

Hi,
I checked with the neighbors, and their feeders were smashed also.
This bear took sunflower feeders and hummingbird feeders, and a bluebird feeder. I will wait a while to put anything back up. Of course, I have to find more feeders to put back up.
I had a bear about 4 years ago. That bear raided the feeders, but seemed to be digging bees out of the ground. I found honeycombs in holes he dug up, and some very angry bees.

The location is off Route 104 between Fairfax and Cambridge - Probably one of those Westford Bears.

Sure, Henry, blame it on Westford!  LOL

Here's a link to a video I made recently of a black bear in the rain.  (not VT, I know...so this bear is not the culprit!)  The video is about two minutes long if anyone wants to see it.  I love the music I used from Transglobal Underground.  It's called Air Giant.

Thanks for sharing your photos JoAnne!  As usual, I enjoy them!
