Its a well known fact that companies do not make a lot of money on their printers, its the ink they sell afterwards.  Perhaps my most efficient printer was my old dot-matrix printer that I used to type thousands of pages with that was hooked up to a box of track feed paper.   Very efficient and I have no idea how many years I used it, of course it wouldn't do photos.

My wife had a HP Printer that she has had for over 10 years and that was an excellent printer, but finally failed and it really wasn't that bad on ink.

It is only in recent years that the price of printers has gone down, but the ink consumption, well that is something else.  It is nothing to spend $60 or so for a couple of cartridges.

Well, Maryann and I have been reading about the Kodak Printers and so decided to get one of their ESP 7 printers.  It hooks into our Router and is networked to both computers that way, so we only need one printer for both computers.  A black cartridge and color cartridge in one package costs $22.  We will see how long it lasts and if it is really that much cheaper.  We had to buy a new printer anyhow, but most likely will continue to send my photos via the Internet to Costco when I am on my way down there.  This printer has two trays, one for 4x6 and one for 8.5x11 paper.  The printer was on sale at Best Buy for $169.

With a twin pack of ink for $22.00 I can not see how you can go wrong.
