A line of strong thunderstorms is about to invade the Champlain Valley, according to the National Weather Service in South Burlington. A Special Weather Statement by the NWS said Franklin, Chittenden and Addison counties can expect wind gusts to 40 mph, small hail and brief heavy downpours between now and 5:45 p.m.
