Stanley G. Shipman
August 6, 1942 - July 24, 2009


Cambridge - Stanley Gordon Shipman, 66 passed away at his home in Cambridge on Friday July 24, 2009.  He was born in Burlington, VT on August 6, 1942 son of the late Cecil and Ethelyn (McCuin) Shipman.  He married the former Muriel Safford in Jeffersonville, VT on May 10, 1969.  He had worked as a framer in the construction industry.  Stanley was a good loving person who cherished his family and friendship with his fellow church members and co-workers.  He always found the good in others.   Stanley will be greatly missed by all.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 40 years Muriel Shipman of Cambridge;  His brother Herbert Shipman and wife Carol of Swanton;  His sister Virginia Thompson of Missouri, his Aunt Irene Chaffee of NY, His Uncle Stanly Shipman of NY, His three sisters-in-laws: Leona Bombard, Marion Safford and Beverly Prindle and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday July 28, 2009 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church of Jeffersonville with Pastor Lynda Hadley officiating.  Burial will follow in the family lot in Mountain View Cemetery – Bartlett Hill, Cambridge.  Memorial contributions in Stanley’s memory may be made to the Second Congregational Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 188 Jeffersonville, VT 05464 or to Cambridge Rescue P.O. Box 431 Jeffersonville, VT 05464.  Arrangements are by John D. Workman, A. W.
