Craigs List Sure Does Sell Cars

A short while back, I was driving down the road and saw a car for sale beside the road and thought, "Gee, between here and the village, there are three cars for sale beside the road."  Must be hard to get rid of your used cars, or else the dealers aren't offering much for them.  None of them stayed out there very long and I haven't seen them since.

One of the individuals that had their car out there for sale told me he put his on Craigs List.  It sold in 15 minutes and before he could delete it off Craigs List he received several more e-mails.

Not sure how the other individuals sold their cars, but don't see them out with a for sale sign any more.  I'm not sure how Craigs List works, but I know that my daughter used it to sell her camper last year and ended up selling it to someone right here in town.

Craig's list is an excellent resource.  I use it to sell houses and other items.  I've sold two properties as a result of Craig's list and a lawn tractor. 
Whenever I'm looking for an item I always check here first.
The only problem I have with it, is it's not very organized.

Craigs List is awesome!

I have sold a swing set for $550 the same day I listed it!  In addition, I have sold 55-gallon fish tank and stand within 3-days of listing on Craigs List.  I usually search it about this time for snow tires and sure enough someone trained in their old car after purchasing new Happokklia snow tires.  Can't buy Happokklia snow tires for $50 a tire and they were like new:)

What about all of those people who don't have internet access let alone have a computer? I know those of us connected (and dare I say, addicted to our high speed) can't fathom that there are folks out there without computers or internet, but they exist.  Many swinging in my own family tree.

I really worry that with the internet pushing print newspapers out of business so rapidly that if they all decide to publish online there will be a surprising percentage of people without a newpaper! Also, the access on the net is totally uncontrolled and every fool and his brother has a "blog" making most of the content out there questionable.

At least with the local paper (or not so local) you more or less know the source of the info and can pretty much trust that the facts have been vetted by the reporter & the editor and if they get something wrong they will own up to it ASAP and make amends.

It's  a wonderful tool and I can't imagine life before it now, but I really feel the internet is kind of scary in its range and scope.

If the paper went out of bussiness, there would be alot of people left in the dark.

You can read the Burlington Free press on line and Florida today.  The Messenger doesn't seem to do much on line except for the headlines. 
  Not sure about the others.
When we are in Florida, I read the Florida today on line so I can see what Estate sales are comming up ( a real big thing down there).  On Thursday I bookmark all the Estate sales I want to go to, map them in my GPS and Friday morning we get the paper and I confirm, at 6:30 a.m., what I want to go to.  Then we don't miss the best ones.

Sounds a bit eccentric but we both love it, nothing like the sales around here, lots of good quality antiques for cheap.

Most papers have some kind of internet presence, but what is viewed for free is usually limited. You have to pay for a subscription to get the entire paper. I don't know about the Messenger or the Free Press, but I imagine it's the same way as other larger papers.

The Messenger doesn't have a lot of content in its paper, it's relatively small and a lot of what fills the inside is from the national news wire, which isn't on the website, just local stories and lots of opinions about walmart!
