Picture of the Day
Taken a week or so ago. I wanted a picture with a firetruck in it for 9/11. The more I look at this, with the moon, the flag, and Engine 1, I really like it.SEPTEMBER 11I find it hard to believe that eight years has passed since that fateful day. So much has changed. It was the days before Facebook, and Twitter, and social networking. Children in 2nd, or even 3rd grade weren't even born yet.
I remember, in all the chaos, going out into the backyard, and looking up into the cloudless blue sky, to see if any planes were overhead. On the offchance that they may be falling out of the sky. Seriously. There were none.
At some point Friday, I will grab my fire gear, go through the pockets, and check everything, just to make sure all is ready. Just in case.........
