Rescue/Fire Dispatched to Webb Paver Parked on side of 104A

Some want to be good samaritan called in a car accident at the corner of 104 and 104A.  Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the "car accident" with unknown injuries/unknown entrapment.

The "accident" was one of the guys working for the paving crew parked off the road waiting to start work.  If someone really wants to help another person who might be in a car accident, they really should stop and check on the person first, then call 911  IF the person is injured or needs help out of his/her vehicle.

I don't know if 911 has the capability of tracking these people that make these calls, but I think in some cases they just want to use their Cell Phones.  I heard the call this morning, but my scanner is in the living room and did not know what it was.  I feel sorry for our Fire & Rescue who have to respond to these calls, when just a little effort on the part of the caller could have identified the situation for what it was.

Couldn't have said it better myself Cedarman! Of course it is better if people call 911 and it isn't really needed then for people to ignore problems and not get involved...that being said, Cederman brings up a good point... don't just drive by an "accident", "fire", etc and call 911 and consider your job done...

If you think you see a car off the road, or an accident, or smoke coming from somewhere it shouldn't, stop and see if there is something you can safely do to help...not only does this prevent our fire, rescue, and police from being sent out for unnecessary calls, but you being there first could make the difference that saves someone's life!

Thanks to everyone for looking out for each other and getting help where it is needed, but don't forget that "Good Samaritan" laws are there for a reason...nobody is going to fault you for doing your best to help someone in an emergency situation, and whatever you can do to help may make a world of difference for someone...
