BFA Fairfax was mentioned on Channel 3 News tonight regarding the transporting of a child to the hospital with flu-like symptons.  so I don't misquote them will wait until it appears on their web site.

Fox 44 Says:

On Monday at Bellows Free Academy Elementary in Fairfax, a first grader was sent to the nurse's office with flu-like symptoms.

"The nurse took the child's fever and it was very very high," School Superintendent Bruce Chattman said.

Local rescue was called and rushed the student to the hospital.

"That's the most scary part of the flu is the high fever," Chattman said.

Chattman says this is the first student in his district to be sent to the hospital with severe flu symptoms.

BFA Fairfax is also seeing double the amount of absences.

"I think the flu season is here, maybe a little bit later than parts of the state," Chattman said.

Chattman says the high absent numbers is proof that parents are taking the health departments advice to keep their children home if they have any flu like symptoms, which helps keep the other kids healthy and safe.

So do they know if it was the regular flu or H1N1?
