Picture of the Day

Not the normal signs you see on Maple Street

DIGITAL TV
Sigh.
OK, here goes.
The satellite receiver downstairs suddenly lost the signals for local channels. Technician coming Saturday. Wednesday night, when I went to bed, I checked the receiver in my room. It was like I wasn't a subscriber. I got infomercial channels and nothing more. Thursday afternoon, I call DISH Network, and for some reason, the box was canceling itself. They fixed the problems, and I got my channels back.
As a bonus, I got the local channels upstairs, but still not downstairs.
After Margie got home from work, we went down to Best Buy, and I bought a digital converter box. I was able to watch FlashForward upstairs after we got home, then set up the converter box afterward.
We can get 2 channels of WCAX, and WPTZ, but no 22 or 33 or 44. And the channels I do get, keep freezing up. But I think we can still get some semblance of weather Friday morning. I have antenna wire, but no atenna, so I will try to figure something up this weekend.
But at least I can watch Dollhouse Friday night.

...get some and not others, that's the beauty of digital TV, unfortunately.
Try moving the antenna around - or rotating it if it's an outdoor antenna).

BTW, can't decide if Flash Forward is a keeper or not, we are still watching it, still like it - I hope it doesn't turn silly.

(have you seen the trailers for the movie "The Fourth Kind?"  ...   yikes)

Mike,

You've probably seen this website before, but it may be worth checking out:

http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx

It shows you which direction the tv signals come from depending on your address.  You're an inventive guy, I'm surprised you haven't built your own antenna!

Is the Breaux house still there?

Is that picture looking TOWARDS the bridge?

I seem to see a green metal roof on the LUMAN house on the right, after major renovations......

The Broe house is still there, but Pat and Reggie retired a few years ago, and now split the year betweeen a camp in Bakersfield and Florida.
The old Olive LeMay house is no longer there. It was replaced by the yellow house you see.

I knew a few years ago, from the site, my great-grandmother's house was gone.
That said. it AMAZES me that the BROE house is still there!

And why did Fairfax make Maple street narrower?
I remember it wider..................jeeze.

I really don't think it's narrower. Maybe the way the picture looks.
