Bring Back Analog TV!!

Okay, so here's the deal.
I went up to J&L Hardware Wednesday morning and bought a set of rabbit ears for the converter box. I now get two channels of WCAX, WPTZ, WFFF, and four channels of WVPT(Ch.33). No 22 or 57. Oh, well, but I still have the locals on the dish, so far.
I got a call from a service man Wednesday morning, and they are scheduled to be here Thursday morning. We shall see.

In any case.............
I was just remembering back in the day when we had a black and white TV that got 3, 5, and 8. I'm not high enough to get Ch.6. Once in a while we could get Ch.12, but never 6, which had Hockey Night in Canada.
Channel 8 was off the top of Mt. Washington.
Once in a while we could get some other channels out of Canada. Ch.10, 9, 17, and 35.
If the atmospheric conditions were right far away stations would suddenly appear. I vaguely remember getting something out of St. Louis and one time in the 80's, getting a station out of Florida.
That would seem impossible nowadays with the digital feed.
Speaking of Ch. 6, we would get Ch. 6 out of Schenectady. We watched Live Aid off that channel back in 85(?). During the Blizzard in March of 93 or 94, I was watching Ch. 6 as the storm was heading our way.
Late at night, and I mean REAL late at night, after WCAX went off the air, you might be able to pick up Ch.2 and one time I think I could pull in a snowy Ch. 4 out of Ontario.
But with digital, I think those days are gone.
Of course, now with the satellite dish, I get channels from LA, and Denver.
But I do like WCAXtra with the weather and radar maps. That will be good to watch when storms come rolling in.

We have our digital box on because when we get a heavy rain or snow storm, we lose all of our satellite stations, so just switch over to the digital channels - I don't miss watching the fuzzy objects through the snow on the TV.  With digital the picture is always crystal clear or nothing at all.
