Bishop Matano Issues New Protocols Due To Concerns For H1N1 Flu

We have received word from Bishop Matano concerning the outbreak of H1N1, commonly known as the Swine Flu. The following protocols will be implemented immediately:

1. The faithful are reminded to not hold hands during the Our Father (family members excluded).
2. At the Sign of Peace, the faithful should offer the Sign of Peace with a simple nod or bow of the head, and say: "Peace be with you".
3. Holy Communion is to be given under the one species of the Host, containing the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ. During this time we are also asked to pray for those who are affected by this illness as well as for our health care personnel. At the end of Mass, please avoid shaking hands when there is the danger of transmitting the flu.
