Vermont State Police Report - Week Ending 2/6/2006

In an effort to keep the citizens of Franklin and Grand Isle Counties informed of the activity of the Troopers assigned to the ST Albans Barracks, we provide this summary for the week of 2-6-2006.

Total calls for service in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties – 98

Traffic accidents w/ damage resulting – 11

Traffic accidents w/ injuries resulting – 0

Assists to other agencies – 15

Burglaries investigated – 6 (1 in Alburg, 1 in Highgate, 2 in Enosburg and 2 in Fairfield)

Responses to alarms – 5

Motor vehicle complaints investigated – 14

Suspicious person complaints – 11

Thefts investigated – 7

911 hang up calls investigated – 4

Driving While Intoxicated arrest – (Georgia)

At the beginning of this week, Trooper Lamothe returned from the Vermont Police Academy after attending the Accident Reconstruction School. This brings a level of accident investigation to the Barracks that we haven’t had in recent history and will assist us in serious injury and fatal motor vehicle accident investigation. Troopers Rolandini, Lamothe, Baxter and Marcellus will soon be attending the Field Training Officer course at the Vermont Police Academy. The ST Albans Barracks is hopefully going to be receiving several new Troopers in the next few months and this training will assist us in developing our newest Troopers assigned to the Barracks. At the end of this week, SGT Steve McNamara will be leaving the Barracks after receiving a promotion to become a Sergeant at the State Police Office of Professional Development in Pittsford.

Even with the arrests of those involved in our most recent Burglary ring, we had another 6 Burglaries investigated in our area. 1 in Alburg, 1 in Highgate, 2 in Enosburg and 2 in Fairfield. All of these crimes are still under investigation. Once again, the public is asked to report all suspicious activity to the ST Albans Barracks or your local law enforcement agency
