Maryann told me last night, "I'm just overwhelmed with Christmas this year."  It is just creeping up so fast.  I remember my mother-in-law in her later years feeling the same way.  The girls used to go down and help her decorate her tree.  Funny how as you get older how this seems like such a chore.

I've got to get busy and make some peanut butter & chocolate fudge, however, the thought of standing there and stirring the peanut butter fudge for 45 minutes is a little tiring.  Was talking to Yvonne Eastman's little girl last summer and she makes peanut butter fudge and even though she is young, she has the same problem.  If they only had some reasonably priced equipment to do that it wouldn't be bad.  The chocolate fudge is a snap.

Today, I have the Senior Luncheon, but on the next nice day, I will try to get my outdoor manger scene up.  Another year has gone by and I haven't made a new manger, so a little more stovepipe wire should hold it together for another year.  My sister gave me the scene about 30 or so years ago and it has been put up every year.

Still have a few more years with my artificial tree, but think when I have to replace it, will get a still smaller one that will fit on the table in front of the picture window instead of my 4 foot one.  They have them now all decorated and looks like the way to go.

I just reread this post and I guess I do really need to get into the Christmas Spirit.  Maybe once I get the manger scene up and we get a little snow and put a few Christmas Carols on that will do the trick.

I too am finding it hard to get into the Christmas Spirit.  I think it's the combination of no snow, no little kids running around laughing, and the fact that I've been seeing Christmas decorations in the stores since BEFORE Halloween.  But mostly I think it's missing hearing all the little kids' excitement of the season -- it's just not the same now that they're young adults.
