ELIZABETH “LIZZIE“ A. (TINKER) WRIGHT FLETCHER — Elizabeth “Lizzie“ A. (Tinker) Wright, 88, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. She was born in Fletcher on Nov. 5, 1917, daughter of the late Coyt and Lucia (Sweeney) Tinker. A strong devoted father figure Sylvester Hoose was a joy to her life. On April 13, 1935, she wed Harlie F. Wright, celebrating 56 wonderful years of married life together. Harlie predeceased her on Aug. 30, 1991. Lizzie and Harlie moved to the farm on Metcalf Pond Road in November 1941 where they farmed and raised their family. She was a member of Binghamville United Methodist Church, where she helped with the church suppers and was chairman of the chicken pie supper. She loved to bake, cook and crochet. Her flower and vegetable gardens each year were a great joy, and canning the surplus of things that grew was a must. She was also an avid bingo player, founding life member of Fletcher Rough Riders Snowmobile Club and helped organize the landowners appreciation dinner held each year by the club. She was honored with the Fletcher Town Report in 1993 being dedicated to her. Lizzie was featured in an article in the St. Albans Messenger in April 2000 on her joy of making doughnuts and promoting the church cookbook they had published. She was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Green Mountain Auxiliary 3210 and received the Citizen of the Year award in April 2004. She enjoyed attending the Tinker Reunion held every July. She enjoyed deer hunting and always looked forward to being a part of each year's Vermont deer season. She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Lucia and husband George Jr. of Mountain Home, Idaho, Lolita Sanders and husband Ronald of Eagle Mills, N.Y., Harlene E. Wright of Fletcher; one son, Harold F. Wright Sr. of Fletcher; nine grandchildren; thirteen greatgrandchildren; ten great-greatgrandchildren; two nieces, Rebecca Stone and husband Lane of East Fairfield, JoAnn Champney and husband George of Richmond; one nephew, Dennis Tinker of Richmond. She was also predeceased by her daughter Wanda Mae Wright; two brothers, Ernest Charles Tinker and Arnold Coyt Tinker. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, March 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. including an Eagle Auxiliary Memorial Ritual at 8 p.m. at the A. W. Rich Funeral Home, Fairfax, Chapel 1176 Main St. Fairfax. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 6, at 11 a.m. in Binghamville Methodist Church with Reverend Mike Doran officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Binghamville Cemetery in Fletcher.
