The water has gone down up around my house, but Channel 3 reports the following roads closed.  Anyone travelling down route 128, can you give us some first hand information?

Several roads in our region are closed this morning due to high water and ice.

In Essex, Pettingill Road is closed because of high water, along with Route 128 at Irene Avenue. North Williston Road is shut down due to both high water and ice. Police don't have a time when the roads will be reopened.

In Bradford a portion of Route 25 about 1/4 mile north of the Bradford Police Barracks is shut down due to water and ice. There's a detour on South Road for morning commuters.

In East Highgate, Route 78 is closed between Hanna Road and McCaughlin Road due to ice and water.

I noticed the ice above the dam hasn't really broken up yet, and there seems to be quite a good bit of ice build up down river away, near the Huziak's (sp) house. I hope the new bridge the put up on River road can handle it, I know the old one couldn't... this year will be a good test.

Rt.128 was open this morning at 6:30am on my way to work.  It was down to one lane in Essex where the Pouliots have those large corn fields on both sides of the road and the water was creeping up on the road near Pettingill but not over.  Spotty black ice conditions where the water pooled on the roadways but overall (other than the bumps) road conditions were just fine with diver awareness and slightly reduced speeds.

Ahhhh Yes, between 1953 and 1992 when I was travelling that road every day, I made many a detour up Rte 15 and over Weed Road due to high water.  Never had to go over Pettingill Road, but could see the water over the road there many times.

Confirmed Hayes FXD account - rte 128 was open with the only issue being at the pouliots cornfield on either side of the road area at 6:15 this a.m.  I did hear a coworker said that it was closed when they went through - not sure though if they just turned off when they saw the high water warning or if it was actually closed there.

Loctavious,

Dispatch told us that it was closed around 6:30 this morning, then let us know when it opened back up- I think it was about 10am.
