Does anyone know if there was ever a railroad, or a railroad offshoot, in or through Fairfax?  I have a railroad enthusiast friend that was asking.

No Henry, I'm not writing a book. :)

Hi Trevor,

East Georgia is where the Railroad Connection to Fairfax used to be.  It was up on The Jed Shepard Road near the Georgia High Bridge.  Back at one time that is where the mail was picked up and sent out as well as where all the railroad freight came in.  I strongly suspect that The Georgia Library or Georgia Historical Society might have quite a bit on it.

Albert Rich told me that the team of horses below used to deliver all the freight from the East Georgia Station to Fairfax:

If memory serves me correctly, there was also a train station in Fletcher. It may have been near the Cambridge end. Charlie Tinker might know.

I knew a guy who worked on the VERMONT CENTRAL RAILROAD.

Pretty cool guy.............

We talked about our days in the South Pacific.

He was Army Air force and I was Navy....
It was a few generations off, but we talked........

No one heard of the Persian Gulf when WE went there....

No one heard of where the above mentioned guy went where he did then either........

I do know where he is now.
I know where I wished he was, now..
