I stopped in at The Vermont Breakfast Company - It is really shaping up and Jack tells me the Electrical Inspector has been in and done the inspection.  Lots of work has been done.  They have some track lighting over the bar, a new floor and the kitchen equipment is about all in.

Jack says to let everybody know that they will be open Tuesday through Sunday and Breakfast will be served every day as well as lunch and dinner.  They will not be selling Pizza.

They plan to be training next Tuesday & Wednesday and will be hiring about 15 people.  He said they will be calling the applicants today.  When I asked him when he might open, he said it could be late next week or the following Tuesday or Wednesday.

I mentioned that he might have a large group if he opened on the weekend, but he told me that does not concern him.  Bottom line he is anxious to start work as a chef in the kitchen where he is the most comfortable.  He does not enjoy the other part of the renovations.

Thx for the update Henry, we can always count on you.....
Quick Question:  Does anyone know if they got their liquor license?   Would be great to have a game on TV and have a beer or 2 cheering on the Boston teams ; )

I think the sports bar will have to be in another locale. I don't think a TV is going in over the bar. :-) But I hear Vt Food Venture is leaving the old building on the corner across from the bakery in the spring! No parking there however. :-(

Wasnt necessarily looking for a "sports bar", that would be great and all but highly unexpected.  Now the local restaurant having one TV over the bar, good neighbors and a few beers and cheers....not that out of reach in my opinion....just a thought and some curiosity thrown in there......NOW about a local sports bar???  ; )

My daughter asked me if they were going to be making their bread there like they have up at 158 Main.  Jack told me that the bread would be baked at 158 Main and brought down here to Fairfax as they have the facilities up there to do that better than here at the Vermont Breakfast Company.

Increased alcohol consumption within town boundaries could lead to increased drunk driving, increased events of serving to minors, and an increase in violence against others. With the lack of adequate law enforcement, I am proposing Fairfax adopts a new policy in which it forbids the sale of alcoholic beverages. Vermont can not sit back and allow its southern neighbor, Massachusetts, to become the new leader in the fight against these potential horrible crimes to occur.

The following towns in Massachusetts are dry, as of 19-APRIL-2007: Alford, Aquinnah (formerly Gay Head), Chilmark, Dunstable, Gosnold, Hawley, Lincoln, Montgomery, Mt Washington, Tisbury, West Tisbury, and Westhampton.

We need to be leaders of stupidity and stop business growth!!!

Please join me in my courageous efforts to fight a local bar option at a house meeting on June 14, 2018 at my homestead. In addition to this fight, I will also be supporting the prevention of UPS and FedEx in using our roads. We can not allow people to shop online, thereby not supporting local businesses. I have a slew more of ideas that I am convinced we could have implemented, such as building a dome over the town to create a norther paradise.

Please ignore the fact that there appears to be a beer in hand of my profile picture, and please ignore the fact that it appears I might be wearing a football jersey and could potentially be in the stands at a sporting event. I don't want to be seen as hypocritical to my fight against a sports bar. I am actually at the Dali Llama's speaking event at Gillette Stadium and I am wearing a traditional Tibetan robe drinking a nice ice cold green tea.

I'm not quite sure banning alcohol is the solution here.

NBC should call Drew to replace Jay & Conan.
Cheers to the Sports Bar, I'll tend since I don't imbibe.
Nickle Green Tea Night (wink, wink).

Wait five years and we will be debating why Fairfax should or shouldn't spend $500,000 on astro turf and lights for the football games. And when the town agrees to spend the money, you will all be coming to me to consult Fairfax on how to  run the food stand people want built. I will consult on the ethics and business opportunities that alcohol at high school games can bring a small town like Fairfax and I will reference 17 counties in Texas and Alabama that already do this.
